Tadaaaaa! I has new arts!

So I decided to participate in the ShinXchange this month, considering I'd actually have free time. I may or may not participate when entries re-open later in July, since I'll have to worry about my new, um, job. Which is not really a job. =/ (also depends on whether I finish the first ref of my new char The Creator by July 15th...)

Anywho! This is 's character Altair, the eagle goddess. She was fun to draw, I'll admit. Especially her face o3o And her front talons. I actually had to scavenge for good references for her wings, yet I realized after I began coloring that they look a bit small for her bulk. Meh.

Terazed, I apologize for the crappy background! I'm not a background person ;n; Anywho. Since there was nothing specified for the background, I decided I wanted to draw her hovering over some landscape with prey in her talons. And while I was aware that her preferred prey was humans, I didn't feel like attempting to draw a person x_x so, she gets a kudu. And appropriately, a sketchily-drawn savannah background.

Oh but the best part. GIMP'S BACK. They finally fixed their tablet bug with the creation of GIMP 2.6, which has the herald trumpets of Blood's art spirits singing. Yes, I love GIMP. More than Photoshop, even more than OpenCanvas. The burn n' dodge tools are so much easier to work with, and they fit my shading style much better than either of the shading methods presented by the above two programs.

Hoho that was more paragraphs than I expected. Blood is done now.
